Aqua Blue Boulders™ are an angular irregular shaped boulder with natural and fractured surface textures which may contain drill marks or drill holes. They are dark slate-blue in color that may contain olive, white quartz and rust veining. Aqua Blue Boulders™ are typically long narrow pieces, for example, a 24” to 36” boulder many only be 18” tall. Stone selection & installation in Colorado
For Denver, the Front Range and Mountain West, match each stone and finish to its intended exposure, load and setting method. Color alone does not establish freeze-thaw suitability. Request supplier test data and written guidance for the exact stone, thickness and finish before specifying exterior work.
Drainage, movement & winter exposure
Provide positive drainage and a properly prepared, compacted base. Confirm slope, setting materials, joints and movement details with your installer and the supplier. Standing water and saturated assemblies increase the risk of winter damage. Check deicing-salt compatibility; do not assume every natural stone tolerates salts.
Dimensions, finish & use
Confirm actual thickness, tolerances, edge treatment, slip resistance and fabrication needs. Pool coping, stair treads, pedestrian paving and vehicular applications have different requirements. Natural stone varies; review physical samples and the supplied range before ordering.
